3rd confirmed case of monkeypox in Broward County

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – South Florida confirmed another case of monkeypox.

That brings the number of infected individuals to three, all of them are reported to be in Broward County.

There are now a total of 18 cases in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Monkeypox is primarily spread through physical contact with an infected individual and manifests itself with flu-like symptoms and a body rash.

According to CDC, the risk to the public is low, and it is rarely fatal.

People should avoid close contact with anyone who may have the virus.
