A county employee’s antisemitic X posts have been condemned by the Rabbi of Coral Springs

Coral Springs, Florida – On his LinkedIn page, Alcocer provides evidence that he has been employed by the county from the year 1993.

“Antisemitism is based on lies and senseless hatred, and it shouldn’t be allowed in any environment,” Denburg said.

“Another Holocaust will be coming for the Jews, they are asking for it!” Alcocer wrote in a March 23, 2023 post on his X account.

Rabbi Yankie Denburg, who is affiliated with the Chabad Jewish Center in Coral Springs, promptly condemned his statements after they were published.

“Hatred should never be tolerated in any setting, not for a county employee and not for a private citizen,” Denburg said. “It doesn’t make a difference who he works for; no person should be allowed to spew hatred on any kind on a public forum.

“I’m happy to see the county stepping up and acknowledging the issue and dealing with it head-on.”

Alcocer’s posts were documented on X Monday by the nonprofit watchdog group StopAntisemitism, whose stated mission is to “hold antisemites accountable for their actions … exposing them online, on college campuses, in corporations, in government, and anywhere else they are empowered.”

A spokesperson for the office of Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava on Thursday said Alcocer “has been put on leave pending a full review to determine further accountability.”

“The County recently learned of hateful antisemitic comments made online by an employee,” the spokesperson said in a written statement on behalf of the mayor’s office. “This behavior is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the values of inclusivity, respect, and unity for which our community stands. We are proud that Miami-Dade is a diverse, welcoming, and supportive county, and any type of hate speech from any employee will not be tolerated. We are taking immediate disciplinary action to address this incident.”
