Broward County Schools Pressed To Reopen Campuses More Than Week Earlier Than Planned

Broward County, Florida – pressed to reopen campuses as early as Monday — more than a week earlier than the target dates of Oct. 14 for some students and Oct. 20 for others.

In a letter to school officials on Monday, Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran directed the district to reopen on Oct. 5 or explain in detail why there would be a delay.

In response, the Broward County School Board will have an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss reopening options.
