Carvalho signs Los Angeles 4-year contract

Florida – Alberto Carvalho is preparing to take the helm of public schools in Los Angeles in March. He was leading Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 14 years as the superintendent.

The school board in LA approved his 2022-26 contract with an annual salary of $440,000, a $50,000 relocation allowance, an automobile and its related expenses, a driver, and security.

Carvalho will have 24 vacation days per year, a mobile phone, a credit card for business expenses, and a $1.5 million life insurance.

He signed the contract on Tuesday. The term is from March 1st to Feb. 28, 2026.
