Coral Glades wins the Swamp Bowl to celebrate Senior Night: CSHS and CSC Football Fall

Coral Springs, Florida – The Swamp Bowl, senior nights, and a Hall of Fame Indiction were the highlights of another exciting football week.

On Senior Night, the Coral Glades football team defeated J.P. Taravella in a rivalry game to record their third victory of the year. Although the Jaguars are a youthful squad with a large number of freshmen and sophomores, they do have notable seniors in Shawn Stewart, John Wooden, Wiston Moise, Tyree Murray, Tut Louis, and Tyler Gordon. On Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m., the Jaguars will play Nova High School to end the regular season. In their most recent meeting, which took place in 2018, the Titans prevailed 51-7.

Coral Glades also paid tribute to their other fall teams’ seniors. As they got ready for the District Championships, the swim team honored Cameron Myer, Daniel Hernandez, David Conner, and Kacie Stewart Bryan. Quincy Ocasio and Zariya Louis-Jeane were recognized alongside the cross-country squad. Ocasio finished as the 152nd runner, although Louis Jeans did not race. Overall, the males finished in 22nd place and the girls in 17th.

Prior to the BCAA Championship, the golf team of Justin Laing and Noah Rosen played their final game against Coral Springs Charter. Bulluon, Shea Esposito, Jaelyn Ireland, Malana McCkosky, Abigail Miller, Abril Rico, Alexis Roberts, Rian Sleigman, Jenna Walker, and Justin Winchester were all teammates on the cheer squad.

The band team honored Daniel Alzate, Alberto Banks, Royce Pierre, Joneyshka Rivera, Ayanna Smith, and Jaydon Woods after they won a competition earlier this year. They also paid tribute to Cathy Pierre, the Sports Medicine tarnishing staff, and the seniors from the ROTC team, Alexander Abreu, Kylee Gueera, and Kidall Guerra.

Coral Springs Charter dropped to 2-5 this season after struggling in their matchup with North Broward Prep for the second consecutive year. But this week, NFL player and graduate Darius Bulter was formally inducted into the Broward County Hall of Fame. Prior to playing collegiate football at the University of Connecuit and spending nine years in the NFL, Butler, a 2004 CSC graduate, excelled in two sports.

Coral Springs High School lost to Marjory Stoneman Douglas in the Pig Bowl for the seventh consecutive season. The Colts are now 0–7 after suffering their seventh consecutive defeat. They did, however, pay tribute to their seniors, Tyrese Hardwick, Imahni Richardson, Camden Hulse, Antonio Silas, Tony Jones, Zanu Fullerton, Jeremian Masse, and Jayden Simpson.

At 7 p.m. on Friday, October 25, the Colts will make their comeback. This will be the first meeting between these two teams since Coral Springs High School defeated them 24–14 in 2014.
