Coral Springs Coconut Creek Chamber Donates $3,500 To Local High School Business Clubs

Coral Springs, Florida – The checks went out this week to seven high schools in Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, and Parkland – each one supporting education to develop future business leaders.

In all, the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce sent out $3,500 to the schools to benefit their DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America ) and BPA (Business Professionals of America) clubs as part of the organization’s annual donations to the schools. Each school received $500.

Most of the funds were raised during the Chamber’s virtual “Roaring 20s Grand Gala” on Oct. 23, which was sponsored by 25 businesses and attended by 122 members, said Cindy Brief, President/CEO of the Chamber. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital was the presenting sponsor.

“This program is personally inspiring to me and so many of our Chamber members. It is the most valuable give-back program we have in our area as it fosters the development of future leaders,” Brief said.

The schools (Coral Springs High, Coral Springs Charter, Coral Glades High, Monarch High, Coconut Creek High, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and J.P. Taravella High) can use the money toward scholarships for their students, transportation to off-site events and programs, and technology advancements, said Gulie Carrington, director of operations at the Chamber.
