Coral Springs is thinking of spending up to $1.5 million on a new fire ladder truck

Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs is thinking about getting a brand-new fire engine.

According to a city memo, Coral Springs city commissioners will vote on Wednesday on whether to buy a new Pierce Ladder Truck from Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for a price up to $1,529,500.

The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department currently uses a 2015 Pierce 107-type truck, which is slated for replacement as part of the city’s fleet replacement plan.

The email stated that until the new ladder truck is delivered, the current one will continue to be used as a frontline unit.

The current truck will be used as a backup ladder truck after the new one is operational.
The document stated that the city staff chose to keep utilizing Pierce after conducting in-depth evaluations.

“Pierce and the Fire Department have a great 32-year connection. The message stated that the company is still a leader in the fire sector and produces high-quality fire apparatuses.

According to the memo, officials want to apply the “Sourcewell Contract” in order to provide Coral Springs with a five percent discount on the basic truck and all available options and accessories when assembling the purchase agreement.
