Homestead, Florida – A child was hit by a car in Homestead and later pronounced dead in hospital.
The incident happened Saturday on the 600 block of Redland Road, just north of Lucy Street just after 8:30 p.m..
Homestead Police Department reported, a 5-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle that did not stay at the scene.
According to the police report the boy was taken to Kendall Regional Trauma Center in critical condition by airway. He was later pronounced dead.
Police officers obtained surveillance video, showing a white pickup truck towing a U-Haul double axel trailer leaving the area around the time the boy was struck.
The police investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homestead Police Department or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
