Hollywood prepares for expected heavy rains in areas at risk of flooding
Hollywood, Florida – As the entire region is under a Tropical Storm Warning, Hurricane Ian’s effects are being felt in South Florida.
A tornado watch and a flood watch are also in force.
Hollywood is one neighborhood that is particularly vulnerable to floods, and there are warning signs for flooded roadways posted all across the city.
To deal with the anticipated increase in rainfall, water pumps have begun operating around the clock.
Residents of Hollywood claim that these areas already flood during less intense storms, therefore Hurricane Ian is unwelcome.
Although the storm is still somewhat far away, it is nevertheless expected to have an impact.
In Hollywood, pump trucks have been seen driving about off South 13th Street and Monroe Street.
Locals express their gratitude that this is not a direct impact.
