Coral Springs, Florida – During National Black Business Month, Locsanity—founded by Charmaine James—is gaining recognition for its creative approach to hair care.
The company, which is headquartered in Coral Springs, Florida, is committed to highlighting the cultural significance and attractiveness of locs and dreadlocks by providing a wide range of plant-based products and instructional materials.
After switching from loose to locks natural hair and finding it difficult to locate natural hair care products that worked, James founded Locsanity.
James said to Local 10′s Alex Finnie on Wednesday, “I found locks to be a much lower-maintenance option, which allowed me to reclaim my time and simplify my routine.” “I decided to create the products myself when I couldn’t find the right ones.”
In addition to products made especially for locks, Locsanity offers products for men, women, and kids who prefer to be loose.
According to James, despite the sizeable male population, there aren’t many options available for guys in beauty supply stores, which is why Locsanity created a specific line for them. The brand has also produced items for kids in an effort to help them develop a healthy relationship with their natural hair from a young age.
Locsanity used their moisturizer—which doubles as a toner—in a daily routine to highlight the ease of use and efficacy of their goods. The lotion is applied quickly during the procedure, which makes it easy for people to manage their hair.
Locsanity is commemorating its recent accomplishment as the only Florida-based recipient of FedEx’s $20,000 Small Business Grant in 2024 in conjunction with National Black Business Month. According to James, the accolades demonstrate the brand’s influence and dedication to promoting natural hair care.
Three colorful summer campaigns—Loc Girl Summer, Loc Bruh Summer, and Locs All Summer—were also revealed by the firm. Beginning on July 17 and lasting until September 15, the campaigns honor the loc and dreadlock community’s identity, independence, and scenic beauty.
The summer campaigns ask participants to upload pictures and videos to the following campaign websites: www.locgirlsummer.com, www.locbruhsummer.com, and www.locsallsummer.com, in order to highlight their distinctive hairstyles and cultural heritage.
Locsanity e-gift cards of $250, $75, and $25 will be awarded to three winners, accordingly.
These advertisements hope to show off how versatile dreadlocks are in the summertime and inspire people to accept and cherish their inherent beauty.
