Miami, Florida – Two police motorcycle officers were transported to the hospital after they crashed into each other while escorting a police Pride parade through Miami Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened at around 12:10 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 12th Street and Southwest 17th Avenue, according to police.
One officer from the Miami Police Department and an officer from the Miami-Dade Police Department were escorting the “LGBTQ+ Police Pride Caravan,” an event involving the two departments and 11 other Miami-Dade law enforcement agencies.
The parade began at the North Miami Police Department.
Medics took the two officers to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Officials described their conditions as “stable” but didn’t elaborate further.
MDPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
