Miami, Florida – Another nationwide shortage occurred, and according to experts, this one could prove deadly.
According to the American Lifeguard Association reports, a national lifeguard shortage could impact many of the nation’s over 300,000 pools.
Around a third to nearly a half of the pools will likely be affected, the organization said.
Experts blame low pay, training costs, a limited working season, and a general lack of interest in the shortage.
At this time, cities across the country are combating the problem by keeping pools and beaches closed.
