Nearly 1,000 children receive 6,000 toys from Coral Springs police at Lions Park

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Police Department’s annual Lions Park Toy Distribution Event saw the distribution of toys to about 1,000 kids and teens.

More than 6,000 items were distributed by police officers and other staff on December 19 at Lions Park on Riverside Drive to kids who were recognized by school resource officers as needing additional help this holiday season.

According to officials, the department’s Community Involvement Unit created the program with the goal of helping local families who were in need throughout the holiday season.

Officers helped children choose toys from the donations made by locals as they walked them through rows of toys.

“We are extremely appreciative of our community’s generosity,” Deputy Chief Bradley Mock stated in a press statement. “We are reminded of Coral Springs’ strength and unity by occasions such as these.”
