Coral Springs, Florida – To commemorate the opening of its refurbished music and art facilities, Park Springs Elementary School in Coral Springs hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
For the opening, the school’s fourth and fifth-grade chorus performed with great energy. The ceremony on Thursday was attended by local authorities, School Board member Lori Alhadeff, and Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn.
The floor, furnishings, and ceiling of the music room have all been replaced. The art room features a new floor finish, new art sink, new storage shelves, and a renovated ceiling. Re-roofing, a new fire alarm voice evacuation system, and fire sprinkler replacement are among the campus-wide improvements.
Principal Denise Hanson stated that the SMART bond program provided the funds for the makeover, which cost Broward Schools almost $9 million.
Many of our pupils have a strong interest in music, and the arts are very important to them. We now have a greater space to provide art and music thanks to these upgrades,” Hanson added.
The new music room will motivate the kids, according to music instructor David Levitan. “The new floor looks good, and the room is brighter. This will inspire our students, who adore music,” he said.
Dr. Howard Hepburn, the superintendent, stated that the new spaces would give pupils a contemporary setting in which to study art and music.
Parent Nancy Kenney supports the Park Springs music program. Her two elder kids also took part in the performance, and her daughter Riley sang in the chorus throughout the celebration. “The music program at this school is fantastic,” she remarked.
According to Alhadeff, the rooms were wonderful places for kids to come and make art and play music.
