Police in Coral Springs are looking into a threat made on social media against Sawgrass Springs Middle School
Coral Springs, Florida – The investigation into what Coral Springs police refer to as a non-credible threat made against Sawgrass Springs Middle School this week is still ongoing as of Thursday.
On Wednesday, a social media post purportedly threatening to shoot people at the school located at 12500 Sample Road prompted police to get a 911 call.
After looking into the incident, the officers came to an untrustworthy conclusion.
According to authorities, there was no lockdown at the school, and no one was taken into custody.
However, authorities are currently trying to learn more details regarding the post.
“We take threats to schools very seriously, whether done on social media or in person. We’ll investigate all threats to the fullest,” Sgt. Francis Capre, a spokesman for Coral Springs police.
Additionally, parents are being urged by the police to warn their children not to repost dangerous content on social media.
