Coral Springs, Florida – Leading the charge on a project to guarantee that no Jewish family in the region is without Shmurah Matzah for their Seder this Passover is the Chabad Jewish Center in Coral Springs.
On Sunday, April 7, Project Matzah will attempt to provide 1,000 packages of Shmurah Matzah to people who would not otherwise be able to get this necessary component of the Passover Seder.
Shmurah Matzah, or “guarded matzah,” is produced by hand using wheat that is kept under tight supervision from the time of harvest to ensure that it satisfies Kosher requirements for Passover observance. It is regarded by many as the most traditional kind of matzah.
The distribution event is set for April 7 at the Chabad Jewish Center, 11324 West Atlantic Boulevard, with a pick-up window of three to four p.m.
For those who are unable to pick up their product in person, there are delivery options available.
The Chabad Jewish Center is looking for many forms of community support. During the distribution event, volunteers are requested to assist with packing and distributing the Matzah kits to nearby families.
The Chabad Center has introduced several sponsorship choices, ranging from the Project Sponsor level at $1,800 to Co-Sponsor at $180, to help offset the event’s cost, which they believe would exceed $10,000.
