Coral Springs, Florida – How Coral Springs will spend $20 million, federal economic stimulus funds?
Business owners and Coral Springs residents will soon be able to tell city officials how they want the sum of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act funding to be spent.
According to Catherine Givens, assistant city manager of budget, those interested in providing feedback need to sign up for future planning sessions to discuss what the dollars should be used for.
She didn’t go into details on how those funds can be spent.
According to officials, Coral Springs is looking to use a portion of the $20 million to cover expenses in the $144 million budget for 2021-22 that calls for tax and fees hikes.
Congress and President Joe Biden approved the massive spending package in March to speed up recovery from the economic and health impacts of the pandemic and ongoing recession.
