Seniors from local high schools will receive scholarships worth $1,750 from the Coral Springs Craft Guild

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Craft Guild is prepared to continue its long-standing history of providing financial assistance to young artists in the community by presenting scholarships for $1,750 to high school graduates in the surrounding area.

The Craft Guild will be providing three scholarships this year: one principal award of $750, and two memorial scholarships, each of which will be awarded at a rate of $500.

The Craft Guild, which is well-known for its dedication to the development of artistic ability, has provided more than $65,000 in scholarships throughout that organization’s forty-year history. High school seniors who are either residents of Coral Springs or attend a high school in the Coral Springs/Parkland area are eligible to apply for the scholarships that are being offered this fiscal year.

Eligibility does not depend on whether or not a student is currently enrolled in an art class. The Craft Guild invites submissions from a wide variety of art disciplines, including visual, graphic, and decorative arts, and emphasizes the significance of uniqueness in the work that the students produce.

When it came to the year 2023, Madalen Erez came out on top, and Sarah Salazar, who had previously been awarded the Michelle Pennetti Award, came in second.

Students who are interested in applying can do so by emailing Stephanie Kraft, the Guild’s Scholarship Chair, at stephanie.kraft@att.net or by obtaining applications from the BRACE adviser at their respective schools.

By the 24th of April in the year 2024, the deadline for submitting finished applications and artwork comes into effect.

To ensure that the artwork is collected from schools on this date and returned the following day, the Craft Guild has arranged the necessary arrangements. Students who are homeschooled can make arrangements for substitute pickup places for their submissions.

The Coral Springs Craft Guild is a 501(c)3 organization that is comprised of experienced craftspeople and artisans from all around the state of Florida working together. The Guild has been actively involved in community service ever since it was founded 47 years ago. Activities such as holding food drives, providing support to homeless shelters, pet shelters, and the Ronald McDonald House, and providing free handicraft workshops in the community are all examples of the Guild’s involvement.

In addition to the contributions made by members, the scholarships are sponsored by raffles that are performed during meetings and the annual Craft Show.
