Thousands of volunteers arrive on South Florida’s beaches to help clean-up

Miami, Florida – Saturday morning thousands of volunteers showed up to help clean South Florida’s coastline.

A total of 53 events were held all over Miami-Dade County alone, with the intention of picking up all the trash littering our backyard.

This comes as a part of an international event aimed at keeping beaches clean.

With 160 countries participating worldwide, engaging people to remove trash and debris from our planet’s beaches and waterways, this was the 36th year for International Coastal Cleanup Day.

More than 300 volunteers came out to Oleta River State Park alone, joining the 3,600 who signed up countywide.

A labor of love to our Earth, our ocean, and waterways, drowning in all the trash that thoughtless people continue to dump into our environment.
