Coral Springs, Florida – Rabbi Michelle Goldsmith of Temple Beth Am in Margate enjoys witnessing the unity of diverse faith groups during fellowship events.
Goldsmith took part in the Coral Springs/Parkland Pre-Thanksgiving Interfaith Unity Prayer Service held at Saint Andrew Catholic Parish on Tuesday, November 26. Representatives from local faith communities came together to share prayers, songs, and readings.
“Having grown up taking part in interfaith worship services, I truly enjoyed being a part of this one.” “It benefits the community,” stated Goldsmith.
Joy Carter, a former commissioner from Coral Springs, expressed her happiness at witnessing individuals from various religious backgrounds coming together.
“This service is fantastic as it promotes togetherness.” Carter stated, “We are all united in God.”
Reverend Andrew Toronto of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Ann Seton Parish in Coral Springs emphasizes the importance of unity and mutual care within the religious community.
“We ought to express our gratitude to God and recognize the positive qualities in others,” he stated.
Andrew Susman, serving as a cantorial soloist at Temple Beth Orr in Coral Springs, expresses his belief that events promoting unity are beneficial.
“This experience was quite uplifting, and it was heartening to witness various faith groups coming together for a service,” he remarked.
Debbie Hafetz, a cantor at Temple Kol Tikvah in Parkland, enjoyed participating in the service and witnessing members from local congregations connect with one another.
Thanksgiving proclamations were read by Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook and Parkland Mayor Rich Walker. Following the presentations from the different congregations, all attendees rose to sing “Let There Be Peace on Earth,” “God Bless America,” and “America the Beautiful.”
Following the service, participants gathered for fellowship and refreshments.
