With its “Rocky Fun Run” fundraiser on April 17, Riverside Elementary is focusing on the digital future
Coral Springs, Florida – A fundraiser has been organized by Riverside Elementary School to assist with the cost of digitizing their marquee sign.
On April 17, 2024, Riverside Elementary School will organize the “Rocky Fun Run,” a fundraising event in Riverside Park that promises to be exciting, challenging, and full of community spirit.
The ambitious $35,000 fundraising target is to start the school’s digital transition.
“Every spring, our Fun Run encapsulates the spirit of Riverside, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. It’s not just about the run; it’s a day filled with joy, challenges, and school pride,” Janice Roldan, Vice President of the Riverside Elementary PTO, shared with Coral Springs Talk.
The Speedy Spokes Relay, The Floor is Lava Contest, Wheels of Freedom, Jumping Beans, and Mount Riverside are among the obstacles that will be part of this year’s event.
“We designed these activities to engage every student and ensure they leave with memories they cherish,” Roldan said.
In order to encourage fundraising efforts, the PTO has also released a number of top prizes, such as a glow-in-the-dark paint party, a foam party for the entire school, and the chance for one kid to take on the role of “Principal for a Day,” replete with catered lunch.
The ultimate award? With two tickets to Universal Studios, the top earner will have the opportunity to embark on an adventure beyond the school grounds.
“This digital marquee is more than just an upgrade; it’s a new chapter in how we connect, share, and celebrate our achievements,” Roldan said.
If more money is raised than anticipated, it will be used to improve technology and the school’s aesthetics.
Contributions of water, sports drinks, snacks, or even gift cards are appreciated by those who are unable to attend.
