8 Healthy Reasons To Masturbate

Masturbation is a normal and healthy part of a person’s sexual life.
1. It can help your sleep
You know how easy it is to fall asleep after an orgasm. The release of oxytocin that comes after you finish, relaxes your muscles and makes you much less tense. Hence, you fall asleep faster and can enjoy a deeper and healthier sleep.
2. It helps keep your pelvic muscles strong
Orgasming strengthens your pelvic muscles the same way kegel exercises do. Having tougher muscles has numerous advantages including better orgasms and fewer menstrual cramps.
If you ever find yourself mentally stuck, releasing yourself can help greatly when it comes to clearing your mind. In addition, it can be good for taking a much-needed break from extended periods of study (just don’t fall asleep and miss your deadlines).
4. It can lift your spirits
Masturbation gives your body a release of dopamine, endorphins (the hormones responsible for a happy mood), and oxytocin while lowering your cortisol levels (the hormone responsible for stress).
5. It can help you fight your cravings
By lowering your cortisol, finishing can help cut food cravings created by high levels of stress. These cravings are normally sweets, fatty foods, and carbs that calm you temporarily, but end up harming your body in the long run.
6. It can help your relationship
A problem many relationships struggle with is a mismatch in sex drives. It isn’t easy to find someone with the same sex drive as you, and masturbation can help you keep a healthy balance.
7. It can improve your skin
Orgasm helps increase blood flow to the skin, which opens up your blood vessels; in some people, this can cause rosy cheeks, also known as the after-sex glow. Better yet, the oxytocin released thanks to orgasming can reduce inflammation and conceal zits and rashes.
Contrary to popular belief that having intense sex can put you at risk of a heart attack or stroke, regular orgasms can actually shield you from potential heart disease. A Massachusetts Aging Study concluded that men who had a couple or more orgasms weekly reduced the risk of cardiovascular disease compared to those who had sex once a month or less.
