With 45,000 wings, Coral Springs’ Wings Plus gets ready for Super Bowl Sunday, with chef veteran Brett Jerry leading the way

Coral Springs, Florida – Wings Plus in Coral Springs is preparing for its busiest day of the year as Super Bowl Sunday draws near.
The family-owned eatery, which is well-known for its blue cheese and distinctive wings, is getting ready to serve an incredible 45,000 wings at its two locations.
Brett Jerry, 34, the kitchen manager who has been at Wings Plus for almost 20 years, is at the heart of the business.
After completing Atlantic Tech’s culinary school, Jerry, a Coral Springs native, began his career as a busboy and worked his way up.
He mentioned that his two elder brothers were also employed at the restaurant and remarked, “I’ve been here for so long because it feels like family.”
For many years, Wings Plus has been a mainstay in Coral Springs, and every year on Super Bowl Sunday, their business peaks.
In addition to its award-winning wings, Wings Plus anticipates serving 3,000 tubs of handmade blue cheese and 90,000 celery sticks at its two locations at 9880 West Sample Road and 1235 University Drive.
On the big day, the restaurant will have around 40 personnel working nonstop to accommodate the demand.
As the staff prepared for the weekend rush, fresh wing deliveries started to arrive on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Jerry will supervise the busy kitchen where wings will be fried, scooped, and packaged for patrons during a demanding 20-hour shift that runs from 5 a.m. to midnight.
By now, Jerry remarked, “We’ve got this down to a science.”
Running the restaurant alongside her father, Brian Walsh, Bridget Walsh, expects a demanding but well-planned day.
“Everyone will be on deck,” she declared. “We’ll try our best to accommodate everyone, but it will be chaotic.”
