More than 7,000 attended the Independence Day event in Coral Springs

Coral Spring, Florida – According to officials the last Sunday’s Fourth of July celebration at Mullins Park in Coral Springs was one of the largest in the city’s history.
Officials say more than 7,000 people attended the Independence Day gatherings.
Despite a temporary shutdown due to lightning in the area, the event from 5-9 pm drew families from across the region.
“It has been such a long time since we have been able to gather in such a big way due to the pandemic,” Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook said. “With more than 7,000 people in attendance, it was one of our biggest July 4th celebrations to date.”
The event featured a splash zone operated by the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, a game zone and a community corn hole area, performers, 10 food trucks, and fireworks.
According to officials, the fireworks show was pushed up by 15 minutes as a storm approached, with many people watching it from their cars.
Brook added: “The event was all about community and coming together and I am so happy we were able to host this fun, family celebration for our residents.”
