One man is dead after a hit-and-run in Southwest Miami-Dade
Miami-Dade County, Florida – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning. Miami-Dade County police are investigating.
According to detective Angel Rodriguez, the man’s body was found around 5 a.m. in the area of Southwest 127th Avenue and 152nd Street.
The driver did not stop to call for help after hitting the pedestrian, police said. At this time investigators have not released information about potential suspects or the vehicle involved.
The intersection is near a gas station and several fast-food restaurants just outside a neighborhood.
According to area residents, speeding drivers have long been an issue in this area.
“This is very tragic,” said Stephanie Hernandez, who lives in the area. “This is very sad. Cars drive here without control, very fast, speeding.”
