Coral Springs driver hit pedestrian, then tried to help her

Broward County, Florida – Driver from Coral Spring hit a woman earlier this week in North Lauderdale and immediately tried to help her but it was already too late. The pedestrian, Rose Clark, died at the scene in the 1400 block of South State Road 7 on Tuesday evening.
According to eyewitness, the Coral Springs driver, Doris Tobon, was the second driver to hit Clarke. After getting off a bus, Clarke crossed State Road 7 and at that moment she was first hit by a pearl white 2018 Kia Optima LX. The driver of the Kia Optima LX immediately drove off from the scene but the car’s passenger side-view mirror came off.
According to officers, Clarke was later hit by Tobon, who tried to help her and then cooperated with investigators.
When Clarke was initially struck, she was not crossing the street in a designated crosswalk.
The investigation about this traffic homicide is ongoing.
