Deja Blue Restaurant officially closed its doors after eight years of operation in Parkland

Parkland, Florida – Deja Blue, an upscale dining establishment celebrated for its distinctive fusion of Middle Eastern, Italian, and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, has officially shut down in Parkland.
The establishment closed its doors on Sunday at 7805 University Drive.
“Following 8 incredible years of serving the Parkland community, our journey has reached its conclusion,” stated a message on the restaurant’s website. “I appreciate all the wonderful memories and the support you’ve given me throughout the years.”
Eddie Pozzuoli Jr. announced on Monday that he and his partner, Paul Greenberg, founder of American Social in Boca Raton, will be taking over the future use of that space as they prepare to open Eddie and Vinny’s in Coral Springs in early 2025.
“Exciting developments are on the horizon for Parkland in the upcoming months, and we eagerly anticipate sharing further details shortly,” Pozzuoli stated.
Pozzuoli also shared that Greenberg has made a significant career shift to join forces with him.
“He has departed from his former life and has joined us,” Pozzuoli mentioned that he has joined P Hospitality, highlighting their expanding restaurant group.
The Pozzuoli family has established a notable presence in the local dining scene, having operated Tavolino Della Notte in Coral Springs for several years prior to its sale. The cherished Italian eatery shut its doors in August 2024.
While Deja Blue thrived for years with dishes such as Sicilian-inspired Arancini and Moroccan Lamb Tajine, classic Mediterranean Branzino, and handmade pastas such as Butternut Squash Ravioli, its closure reflects broader challenges facing fine dining in the current economic climate, according to experts.
Experts indicate that restaurants are facing significant challenges due to increasing food prices, ongoing labor shortages, and changes in consumer spending habits.
As inflation affects discretionary spending, numerous diners are choosing more casual or budget-friendly dining alternatives.
