Double shooting in Homestead, woman killed, man seriously injured

Homestead, Florida – According to authorities, Thursday morning a double shooting occurred in Homestead.
The shooting was reported at the Colony Lakes apartments at 1502 E. Mowry Drive.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other person was taken as a trauma alert to Jackson South Medical Center, according to Homestead police Detective Fernando Morales.
Relatives at the scene said that the shooting was domestic-related and that a man and a woman had been shot.
The man remains hospitalized.
The investigation is ongoing.
