Fargo police officers to begin using body-worn cameras
FARGO, N.D. — Police officers in North Dakota’s largest city will soon be wearing body-worn cameras.
Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibloski said the cameras should be ready in August. The devices come equipped with triggers that are activated when an officer draws a pistol or Taser, removes a rifle from a vehicle, or when the vehicle lights are turned on.
The $2.8-million purchase will be paid for with federal funds from coronavirus relief aid. The software package also comes with new Tasers, KFGO radio reported.
Training for officers will begin in early July.
