Free Covid-19 Testing Site To Close On May 14 In Coral Springs

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Starting May 14, there will be one less free Covid-19 testing site in Coral Springs.
The site at Mullins Hall at Mullins Park will shut down after a year of operating during which nearly 90,000 tests were conducted, Coral Springs officials said in a news release.
The site at Florida Panthers IceDen at 3299 Sportsplex Drive — run by Florida Division of Emergency Management — will continue offering free rapid testing seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The site at Mullins Hall — run by staff from Florida Department of Health (FDOH) — is closing because of a steady decline in people being tested, greater access to testing, and a decrease in Covid-19 cases, city officials said.
Officials said it’s no longer necessary to have two free testing sites in Coral Springs.
There are still numerous private testing sites in the city.
“The Mullins Hall test site has been one of the most successful sites in the county, and we appreciate the successful partnership with FDOH,” Coral Springs Emergency Management Director Alexander Falcone said in the news release.
