Janee Gresham, the Queen of Coral Springs, is aiming for national glory at Miss Plus America

Coral Springs, Florida – Janee Gresham, the newly crowned Miss Florida Plus, is prepared to dazzle in Houston, having made the leap from Coral Springs to the national stage.
All American women who are at least a size 14 are eligible to compete in the Miss Plus America pageants. On its website, the organization states that its founding principles in 2002 were as follows: “We believe all women are beautiful, inside and out.”
Gresham, a 26-year-old graphic designer, is the proprietor and creator of Plastered Media, a full-service creative business committed to the innovative success of brands led by women.
Gresham takes great pleasure in using her career to help young women develop self-confidence and professional interpersonal skills. She has always observed the low self-confidence of many young people, particularly women. She stressed the need for networking and public speaking, so the Florida pageant was a great chance for her to boost her confidence and self-worth.
“It was something I challenged myself to do,” she said. “That’s why I have such a passion for this.”
Gresham was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, but for the last eleven years, he has resided in Coral Springs. She graduated from Boyd Anderson High School in 2015 and is a film and television production major at Broward College.
Gresham stated that she didn’t place a high value on winning or losing these contests. “I think for me personally, I was more proud of the work I put into it,” she said. “I knew I had worked hard.”
She knew full well that one of the things that would be used to evaluate her would be her public speaking skills. She also recognized that community involvement would be a key consideration for the judges.
“They want to make sure you’re impacting your community,” she said. “You had to do your outreach. I was already doing that.”
The national event will take place at the Hilton Houston Post Oak, located at 2001 Post Oak Blvd. in Houston, from July 29 to August 3. No television network will air this year’s contest.
