Local Chambers gather supplies for hurricane Ian victims

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce is gathering goods and items for the hurricane-affected cities on Florida’s west coast.
John Biggie of JBI Building and Developers, who serves as the chamber’s treasurer and a board member, is leading the initiative, according to Cindy Brief, the organization’s president and CEO.
“The Chamber is assisting him in getting the word out so that we can help our neighbors on the West Coast,” she added.
The Parkland Chamber of Commerce is also assisting, pushing locals to gather essential supplies for individuals impacted by one of the greatest storms the state has ever seen.
“In the state of Florida, and certainly in our local business community, coming together to support one another is the collective hug that is needed in times like this,” said the Parkland Chamber’s Board of Directors in a statement.
Non-perishable food and bottled water, protein and granola bars (without chocolate), peanut butter crackers, Boost and Ensure protein drinks, Pedialyte, and Gatorade, feminine products, clothing, towels, blankets, and pillows, toilet paper and paper towels, diapers, baby wipes, and canned or powdered milk are among the necessities. First aid kits, solar phone chargers, cleaning supplies, and heavy-duty garbage bags are also required.
The items are being accepted by the Chamber at Corporate Park in Coral Springs, which is situated at 3740 NW 125 Ave., from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call 954-786-0266 for further details.
