Annual MLK Golf Classic to benefit students in Coral Springs

Coral Springs, Florida – Every stroke at the yearly MLK Golf Classic in Coral Springs contributes to education.
The “Golfing for the King” event, which will take place on Friday, March 8, at the Coral Springs Country Club, located at 10800 W Sample Road, is being prepared by the Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee.
The MLK Scholarship Fund, which assists Coral Springs high school graduates with financial support for tuition and other educational requirements without regard to ethnicity, is the beneficiary of the cash raised by this humanitarian event.
“The MLK Committee and city staff put forth so much effort to create a memorable experience for participants while raising money to benefit future leaders in our community, said Commissioner Joshua Simmons, who serves as the committee liaison.
The race officially starts at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start, however, participants can register starting at 7 a.m.
The cost of participation is $150 per person, and businesses can choose to pay $1,500 to sponsor a corporate foursome. In addition to helping to support scholarships, this sponsorship level comes with exclusive signage, logo placement on the event backdrop, and recognition as a Par Sponsor on the municipal website.
Players will be treated to an award lunch in the style of a buffet after the competition. Registration for those interested in participating is open until Friday, March 1.
Simmons added, “Just like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, ‘When we help others, we become part of something bigger than ourselves.’ This tournament and the additional work done throughout the year helps and empowers others, and that is something I am incredibly proud of.”
