Roach infestation has resulted in the temporary closure of the restaurant located in the Coral Square Mall

Coral Springs, Florida – As a result of the discovery of a roach infestation on Monday, a state inspector issued an order that the Sbarro restaurant located within Coral Square Mall remain closed immediately.
In a number of different restaurant sections, inspectors found seven infractions, including both live and dead roaches, as stated in the inspection reports. There were live roaches found in the office area, in the rear prep area near a floor drain, and close to the hand sink at the front counter, according to the inspectors who were doing the inspection.
Raccoons that had died were found in a number of different locations.
Other infractions included problems with temperature regulation for the purpose of ensuring the safety of food. Pasta salad, garbanzo bean salad with chopped tomatoes, and cucumber tomato salad were among the items that were discovered to have been stored at temperatures that were higher than the recommended threshold of 41 degrees.
Due to the fact that the operator was unable to ascertain the length of time that the food had been stored in the unit, a stop-sale order was issued.
A number of further violations were committed, such as the expiration of the certification of the food manager and the requirement that all staff members undergo mandatory employee training.
Following the initial shutdown that took place on July 15, the inspector carried out follow-up inspections on July 16 and July 17. It was discovered that there were more dead roaches during these visits.
Since Wednesday, Sbarro has been given permission to reopen after the inspection process was completed successfully.
