Coral Springs City requests nominations for the MLK Monument Award in 2025

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee is currently taking nominations for the 2025 MLK Monument Award, which recognizes local people or groups that uphold Dr. King’s principles of democracy, equality, freedom, and togetherness.
Applications are accepted through Friday, January 17, 2025, at 5 p.m. at CoralSprings.gov/MLKMonument. The award is in keeping with the Northwest Regional Library’s permanent MLK Monument, which honors Dr. King’s legacy.
Dan Bruck, the proprietor of Kilwins in Coral Springs, received the honor last year for his significant contributions to the community. Bruck has backed a variety of causes over the last 22 years, such as giving to neighborhood NGOs, planning senior ice cream parties, and supporting initiatives like Dare to Care, which provides weekly meals to hundreds of families.
Additionally, Bruck received recognition for his fundraising efforts on behalf of the MLK Scholarship Fund and the Kids of Love Foundation.
Residents and organizations in Coral Springs that are making a significant difference are honored with the MLK Monument Award. Dr. Mark Gendal, Karla Garcia, and Marcus Duncanson were among the other nominees from the previous year.
