After allegedly pulling a gun during a road rage incident, the driver was arrested

Coral Springs, Florida – A guy allegedly displayed a pistol after a heated altercation with another driver in Coral Springs on Thursday afternoon, resulting in a felony arrest.
Arrest records show that officers from the Coral Springs Police Department were called to the 2500 block of North University Drive at 3:30 p.m. on January 23 in response to an allegation of a firearm-related road rage incident.
The victim said that he and a driver, later identified as Coral Springs resident Eric Johnston, 64, had gotten into a fight close to the scene of an automobile collision.
According to the victim’s statement in CSPD records, Johnston swerved in front of his car, cutting him off, and then drove away before coming to a stop at a red light. The victim claimed to have witnessed Johnston making a lewd gesture as he came up beside him, then reportedly taking a gun from the center console of his car and pointing it at the victim.
Johnston was promptly found at the Bank of America parking lot at 3200 North University Drive by detectives from the Coral Springs Police Department’s Strategic Enforcement Team. Johnston, the driver of the car that fit the victim’s description, was arrested and given the opportunity to give his version of events, but he chose not to.
After being taken into custody, Johnston was taken to the Broward County Main Jail.
