Coral Springs, Florida – On Monday, November 11, the City of Coral Springs will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony in collaboration with the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs.

Veterans Park, situated at 8601 Royal Palm Blvd., will host the ceremony at 10:30 a.m. to commemorate the community’s military veterans’ service and sacrifice.

This year’s honored guest speaker at the ceremony will be Rear Admiral Douglas M. Schofield. In addition to leading the Seventh District of the U.S. Coast Guard, Schofield is the Director of the Miami-based Homeland Security Task Force.

Among his many duties is commanding all Coast Guard activities in the Caribbean Basin and the Southeast United States. In his capacity as the task force’s director, Schofield is essential in protecting the area by spearheading initiatives to stop, discourage, and address unlawful maritime migration.

The city’s dedication to honoring those who have served will be demonstrated by the Coral Springs Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol honoring military members with a wreath-laying ceremony and full honors, the Coral Springs Police Honor Guard conducting a salute volley, and remarks from Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook.

With programs like commemorative bricks and special parking at specific public locations, Coral Springs offers chances to honor veterans all year long. Visit CoralSprings.gov/Veterans for a comprehensive list of military and veteran-related programs.

In the event of bad weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Coral Springs Gymnasium, situated at 2501 Coral Springs Drive.
