An effort is underway to raise money for a mother with cancer in Coral Springs

Coral Springs, Florida – Jennifer Hurt-Brown, a Coral Springs resident, broke down in tears when she was told over the phone how much the town loves her.
The mother of three, 48, is fighting for her life due to recurrent metastatic breast cancer that has already spread to other organs, and she has good reason for this.
Even though Brown was first diagnosed with this ill-fated condition nine years ago, she continued to give her all to the community, especially the young people. For several years, she has served as the president of the Coral Springs Youth Softball Association, or YSACS.
She is driven to continue fighting even though she needs chemotherapy once a week for two weeks, followed by a week off to let her body to recuperate. “For my family, for my children,” she murmured. I genuinely love playing softball for all the city’s girls.
She tries to recover a little during her week off from chemotherapy. She claimed, “I’m not as fast as I used to be.” “I am sluggish. My butt hurts from the negative affects.
She received chemotherapy and radiation treatment after the cancer was initially identified in 2016. She had reconstruction and a double mastectomy the following year. After that, she experienced remission. However, when it was discovered that Brown’s cancerous cells had moved into her parotid gland in 2020, she needed more intensive radiation treatment. Her cancer later spread to her bones, necessitating additional chemotherapy. Although the tests yielded encouraging results, the disease returned to her bones last year and has since spread to her liver.
DeAnn Robertson, Brown’s close friend of the previous seven years, described it as “terrifying.” “It just keeps showing up in different places.”
Their girls became friends at Riverside Elementary School, where Robertson met her buddy. Both mothers have two daughters that are of the same age. She said, “And they’re always together through everything.”
Robertson has set up a GoFundMe to help her close friend and her family. Robertson remarked, “She is the most selfless person I know.” “It’s time that we assist her now.”
Even while Robertson is aware that there is nothing anyone can do to stop this “monster” that is cancer, they can at least lessen the financial strain on the family.
Despite being in its early phases, Robertson’s fundraising initiative has achieved remarkable success. Over $20,000 has been raised in less than a week.
Robertson remarked, “People have come out big for her.” She is incredibly well-known. She plays a significant role in Riverside. She provided for all of my needs when I was the PTO president.
Nicole Bardugone is another close friend of Brown’s who got to know her through YSAC. “She is undergoing severe chemotherapy, but she is still contributing to the community,” Bardugone added, stressing that her friend continues to visit the park in spite of the crippling treatment. Bardugone went on to say, “She gives selflessly to the community and rallies so much for her kids and the community.”
Brown used the following quotation, which she claimed had to do with softball but also had to do with her battle with cancer: “Emotional, mental, and physical aspects of the game all directly impact one another.”
Brown’s own mother died of the same disease when she was just 29 years old, which makes her even more terrified. When Brown was first diagnosed, she was just 39 years old. “I had to go through this with my kids, who were young,” she remarked.
Cooper, 10, Ella, 13, and Addison, 15, are her three children. Coral Springs Charter School is where Addison and Ella are enrolled. Cooper attends Riverside Elementary School and is in the tenth grade.
The issue has also been difficult for her husband, Greg, according to Brown, who was born in Kansas. She remarked, “It’s stressful for him to be the only one supporting the five of us, especially since I can’t work for five years.”
