Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Glades basketball continues to produce talented players, with Tahir Bond announcing his commitment to Calhoun Community College.

Bond says it feels great to be committed and is blessed to be able to take his game to the next level.

“It’s a great feeling knowing that you were able to get it done and commit because a lot of other kids out there aren’t able to do the same after high school basketball, Bond said. “I’m truly blessed for this opportunity, and I’m going make something of it.”

Bond began playing basketball in elementary school but did not start to take it seriously until his seventh game. He played for Stefan Whittingham in Middle School, the same coach he would play for in his final two years on varsity. He also played for TDT, which became Team Knight after Whitting became the director.

During his two years on varsity, Bond played in 51 games and averaged 12.3 points per game. He also averaged nearly five rebounds and two steals, helping the Jaguars reach the postseason in consecutive seasons, including their first District Title in school history in 2023.

When looking where to play in college, Bond felt that he wanted to be recruited properly before making his final decision.

“Coach Powell and his staff really showed their interest and respected me for things that were even bigger than basketball, which led me to my decision,” he said. “Our bond continued to grow over the months of recruiting me.”

Before college, Bond hopes to continue improving his shooting and quickness off the dribble.
