Coral Springs celebrates a heroine who rescued children from drowning

Coral Springs, Florida – Elected leaders in Coral Springs honored a mother for her prompt rescue of a small child who had fallen into a swimming pool.
According to a report detailing her activities, Linda Weisberg heard a scream from an adjacent house on June 2 at about 5:30 p.m. while attending a birthday celebration in Coral Springs.
After scaling the fence, Weisberg discovered a mother removing her comatose child from the swimming pool.
According to the memo, Weisberg, who had medical training, gave the child CPR until they were able to breathe again.
The child was awake and attentive when EMS arrived, and after receiving standard medical attention and evaluation, they were subsequently released from the hospital.
A proclamation stated that Wiesberg’s actions “undoubtedly contributed to the positive outcome of a potentially tragic incident” and was read by Fire Department Chief John Whalen at the City Commission meeting last week.
Whalen remarked, “Weisberg accomplished an incredible feat of which we are extremely proud.” “The value of bystander CPR in the community cannot be overstated.”
Weisberg emphasized in her remarks the value of training kids to swim and the necessity of learning CPR.
Weisberg stated, “What happens in those five minutes are lifesaving. It takes EMS five minutes to get there.”
