Coral Springs installs new entry signs to improve the city’s image and greet visitors – A $112,000 Project
Coral Springs, Florida – Drivers may see some new welcome signs being erected as they travel through Coral Springs’ entry points.
According to Lindsey Steinberg, a Coral Springs city spokesman, the city has already put two of the seven signs that it purchased for $112,000 in total.
Nine signs will be installed, including two more that will be placed along roads that are still being built.
The signs are placed in busy medians in the following locations:
– Riverside Drive south of Westview Drive
– University Drive north of Westview Drive
– Coral Springs Drive north of Westview Drive and south of Riverside Drive
– Coral Ridge Drive north of Westview Drive and south of Riverside Drive
– Atlantic Boulevard east of Ramblewood Drive
According to city authorities, the signs will give locals and tourists alike a feeling of pride and inclusion when they arrive in Coral Springs.
In an email, Steinberg stated, “We want residents and visitors to Coral Springs to feel a sense of pride and that they have arrived in a community that takes great pride in its aesthetic.”
In keeping with the city’s identity, the new signs are intended to welcome visitors with a kind message. According to her, they replaced signs that were put up in 2007 but had deteriorated and contained antiquated city branding.
According to her, each sign is made of aluminum and has breakaway posts. They will have solar-powered lighting, a tile veneer foundation, and the Coral Springs “Everything Under the Sun” emblem. The presence and visibility of the signs in each median will be improved by landscaping.
Five smaller signs cost roughly $13,000 apiece, while two larger signs cost $13,600 each. The price of each sign varies depending on size.
To compensate for installation costs, a $20,000 work allowance was given to the project.
Out of seven eligible vendors, the chosen bid was the lowest, according to city authorities.
However, there has already been a problem with the project.
The city will temporarily remove two signs that have already been installed in order to make the necessary minor modifications. According to Steinberg, the signs will be transported to the production factory for maintenance.
