Coral Springs Police Hold Annual Toy Drive Through December 14

Coral Springs, Florida – The annual toy drive through the Coral Springs Police Department is now accepting new toys; however, due to COVID-19 safety protocols, this year’s collection will look a little different.
According to Captain George Soberon of the Community Involvement Unit, residents interested in providing a more joyful holiday for either an infant or child up to 18-years-old can send an unwrapped new toy through the mail since drop off locations used in the past are now closed.
They are looking for action figures, sports-themed items, Legos, baby dolls, Play-Doh, toy cars, and board games. According to the city, checks or gift cards are accepted as well.
Additionally, Captain Soberon said the police department welcomes local organizations, like the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, to organize toy collections.
“Unlike past years where we would have a party at Lions Park and hand out the gifts, we will have officers deliver the gifts to the children,” said Captain Soberon.
Gifts, which should not be stuffed animals and not valued over $50, can be mailed to Community Involvement Unit, 2801 Coral Springs Dr 33065 through December 14, 2020. Checks can be made out to the Community Involvement Unit and mailed to the same address.
For additional information regarding the Toy Drive, visit the Coral Springs Police Department website or contact the Community Involvement Unit at 954-346-1311.
