Coral Springs starts new program to educate residents about nature

Coral Springs, Florida – A new program starts to teach residents about wildlife, plants, and conservation efforts while visiting parks and preserves throughout the city of Coral Springs.
According to a city news release, the Back to Nature program will start Oct. 9 and run every second Saturday of the month through March.
Sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on:
– Oct. 9 at Tall Cypress Park (Nocturnal session; from 7 to 9 p.m.)
– Nov. 13 at Red Lichen Park
– Dec. 11 at Sandy Ridge Sanctuary
– Jan. 8 at Sawgrass Nature Center
– Feb. 12 at Community Garden/Food Forest
– March 12 at The Atlantic Trailhead
The news release says the program is open to all ages.
Registration is required. Three groups will be available per date. Space is limited to 10 people per group.
Robert Hunter, director of the city’s parks and recreation department, which is running the program says “We are always looking for ways to promote the outdoors, local parks and the city’s natural habitat, this informative program is a great opportunity to share information about our natural resources”.
