Coral Springs’s Uncle Louie G Italian Ices & Ice Cream opens
Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs is currently serving Italian ice and ice cream in the Brooklyn style.
30 ice cream flavors and 47 varieties of Italian Ice are available from Uncle Louie G. Additionally, it sells vegan, sugar-free, and kosher ice cream and ices.
After relocating to South Florida from Brooklyn, Denise, and Andrea Mormile want a fresh start. In addition to Denise’s nursing duties, both of them worked in finance.
They also discovered it was difficult to find Italian Ices as they had experienced in Brooklyn. They chose to pursue a franchise with Uncle Louie G Italian Ices & Ice Cream after doing some study and deliberation, and on March 28 they launched a new location.
“We felt it was a way to bring our history to Florida and wanted to do something different. Ice cream and ices are fun and happy; this was the business for us,” said Denise, the older sister.
Drea Miglino, Denise’s daughter, assists in running the company. She recalls not being able to locate the Italian ice desserts she had loved in Brooklyn. Son, two younger children, and Denise’s mother will all be employed by the company. Drea stated, “I would like to grow this business and open more of them in the area.”
Drea intends to expand the catering services that the store now provides.
With more than 45 franchises, Uncle Louie G, a New York company based in Staten Island, operates in eight states. The company’s website narrates how it all began in Brooklyn in 1959. In those days, children used to play stickball in the streets and get ice cream cones from Louie G on his stoop during hot days. This was the modest start for the Uncle Louie G company.
9866 West Sample Road is the address of the store. On its first day of operation, the Coral Springs-Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
