Cornerstone Redevelopment Timeline Announced

Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs Economic Development Office (EDO) and Predesco Property Investments, LLC, are excited to announce a demolition timeline for the Financial Plaza, to make way for Cornerstone in the Downtown area.
Demolition of the building, which is estimated to take up to 10 weeks, will kick-off with a ceremony in January 2021, celebrating a reimagined Downtown Coral Springs.
Of the new project timeline, Rod Sheldon, President of Predesco Property Investments, LLC, said, “This year we faced many challenges because of COVID-19 and while the demolition plans were hindered, the planning for this exciting project never ceased. With additional development plans taking place in the city, Cornerstone will serve as a destination for people to work, live and enjoy Downtown, right in the heart of Coral Springs.”
Demolition will begin with a “gut out” of the entire building, removing all fixtures, drywall, framing and windows, leaving just a concrete shell. Then the concrete shell will be demolished in sections by an excavator, making way for site work starting in April 2021.
Excited to announce the plans for Cornerstone, EDO Director Kristi Bartlett said, “Progress on the Cornerstone project is the kind of exciting news we need. It reaffirms that regardless of the economic impacts of a global pandemic, Coral Springs commerce is thriving. This project is the revitalization of Coral Springs we needed to kick-start the new year and our local economy.”
Cornerstone expects to welcome residential, hotel and office space. As new businesses and corporations sign contracts with Predesco Property Investments, LLC, the Office of Economic Development will jointly announce them through press releases with the developer.
