During a kid’s movie, a fireworks prank at a Coral Springs theater causes “panic”

Coral Springs, Florida – When three children threw firecrackers into a movie on Tuesday, frightening the entire audience, patrons of the Regal Magnolia Place theater thought the worst.
A witness and a report from the Coral Springs Police Department state that the event occurred during an Inside Out 2 showing at the theater located at 9645 Westview Drive at 9:05 p.m. The smoke clouds were created by the firecrackers as they detonated in front of Theater #9.
The three individuals who threw fireworks, seemingly attempting to pull a practical joke, fled.
“Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, but patrons were understandably shaken up by what had occurred,” the police report states.
The report states that there will be no additional investigation into the occurrence.
A witness said that when the pyrotechnics started to produce flames and smoke, the parents and children in the audience “panicked.” Popcorn and drinks were flying as moviegoers ran for the exits, she claimed.
The witness, who begged that her name not be used out of concern for her safety, stated that one woman collapsed among the rush and struck her head.
“Everyone in the theater started screaming ‘get out, get out,’ they thought we were under attack,” she said. “It was chaos.”
The three children are not yet named or facing any charges.
