Four Coral Springs Charter teams win games; Lindsay takes first and soccer honors seniors

Coral Springs, Florida – With four teams collecting victories, a senior day for the soccer teams, and a wrestling victory, Coral Springs Charter athletics picked up speed this week.
The boys’ soccer team improved to 6-9-1 this year after defeating Pompano Beach High School 2-1 and paying tribute to Brandon Moll, Jaxson Goldstein, Enrique, and Emanuel Matos.
The girls’ soccer team improved to 8-3-2 this year with a 4-1 victory. They played to a 0-0 draw against NSU University on Thursday after honoring Maria Rojas, Tori Redesco, Abigail Foster, Marissa Micioni, and Katianna Grace.
Next week, both soccer teams will play: the ladies will face West Boca Raton Community High School on Monday, January 13 at 4 p.m., and the boys will play South Plantation High School on Tuesday, January 14 at 6 p.m.
The boys’ basketball team defeated Monarch High School 43-42 to start the season, and then they defeated FAU High School 56-45. The Panthers defeated Benjamin High School in their final game on Friday to improve to 9-5 after losing 74-29 to Chaminade Madonna High School.
After losing their opening match against Cypress Bay High School, the girls squad won three straight games to improve to 9-3, defeating Calvary Christian Academy, Monarch, and Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School.
After that, the girls’ team will play West Boca Raton Community High School on Monday, January 13 at 6 p.m., and the boys’ team will play Goleman High School on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m.
In the District Duals this week, the wrestling team again lost to Jupiter Christian 47-35 after defeating St. Andrews 42-36. They went to the River Hawk Round Robin Tournament in New York, where Preston Lindsay took first place, even though they didn’t go it far in the duals. Elijah Perez placed fourth, and Andrew Ridge came in second. In pool play, all three of these wrestlers won.
“The team is making quick progress and wrestling really well.” Eric Perez, head coach, stated. “I think a number of our wrestlers will make it to the State Tournament.”
Before the postseason begins, CSC will continue to ramp up; on January 22, they will host their next event at Coral Springs High School.
