Man arrested in Coral Springs for trafficking more than 35 grams of fentanyl

Coral Springs, Florida – Trafficking fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid connected to the continuing overdose problem in the United States, has resulted in the arrest of a Coral Springs man.

According to a police report, 29-year-old Noah Popkin was taken into custody on Sunday after a traffic stop that was started because his automobile had illegal window tinting near the Edgewater Apartments at 8931 Wiles Road.

Officers noticed a strong marijuana smell emanating from his vehicle during the stop.

According to the report, they also noticed a transparent plastic bag with 55 pink pills in plain sight.

Officers found the bag when Popkin tried to hide it between his legs, according to the arrest report.

According to the article, tests revealed that the tablets contained 35.54 grams of fentanyl.

After the car was searched further, 6.3 grams of cannabis were found.

Popkin is currently being charged with trafficking more than 28 grams of fentanyl, possessing less than 20 grams of cannabis, and driving a car with windows blocked.

Popkin was brought to the Main Jail of the Broward Sheriff’s Office after his car was seized.
