On Senior Night, Coral Springs Charter Softball Wins 2-0

Coral Springs, Florida – On Monday, Senior Night, the Coral Springs Charter softball team defeated Dwyer to record their 11th victory of the year.
Kayleigh Cuccia, Kate Maston, Alivia Taibl, and Stephanie Basso were acknowledged. Basso, who will play in college at Coastal Carolina University, was one of the best catchers in school history.
Taibl has been a reliable outfield player for the squad, according to head coach Mark Montimurro, while Maston played baseball in high school before converting to softball. Cuccia made a significant advancement as a senior, and she will play at Florida Gulf Coast University the following season.
“Kayleigh took a leap of faith her senior year, leaving a comfortable situation in search of something that would challenge her,” Montimurro said. “Most kids are going with the comfort zone. Kayleigh has really been a blessing to coach, and she’s brought an invaluable veteran presence to our group.”
During the contest, Courtney Wahlbrink pitched a full game shutout with 13 strikeouts, while Gio Gurgel hit a game-winning two-run home run in the sixth inning. In the game, Addi Michel, Taibl, Cuccia, and Maston all had hits.
Next up for CSC is a Thursday 6:30 p.m. match against Fort Lauderdale High School. The Flying L’s are 7-7 this year and lost 6-3 to the Panthers in their lone meeting from the previous campaign.
