The project to build 147 new townhouses in Coral Springs is moving ahead

Coral Springs, Florida – 147 new townhouses on Wiles Road just west of Coral Ridge Drive to be built in Coral Springs.
According to plans submitted to the city and Broward County Property Appraiser’s Office, the development known as Sunset Trails would be constructed on a vacant 19-acre property on the north side of Wiles Road that is owned by Lennar Homes.
The project, just north of Corporate Park of Coral Springs, was opposed by many businesses in the corporate park as well as by city staff but city commissioners, in a 4-1 vote, approved the needed zoning change to allow the project to move ahead.
Commissioner Shawn Cerra voted against the project. The opposition was related to demands to keep the land zoned for commercial use instead of residential.
The land was once envisioned as a Home Depot store.
According to plans, the development would include a cabana, pool, tot lot, and walking trails.
